Ahoy,
I am Will the scrawny young looking guy who puts away a lot of the tables at the end of the meetings. I have been a member for about a year and a half now and find it fun, informative and a place for great deals on all things fishy.
I am one of the managers at the Warminster PETCO. I am currently running 5 aquariums with 5 more lying around to be set up. My oldest aquarium is a 25gallon reef with 4 species of coral and a neon dottyback occupying it. I started with the most difficult setup I could think of and enjoyed it so I went on to a 20 gallon setup for Octopus bimaculoides. I quarantined it for a month and then moved it to a 125 gallon aquarium where it lived for 3 more months eating 10 fiddler crabs a week. They only live for a year tops so after it passed I started keeping only saltwater fish in the 125. I became fascinated with crabs like Uca pugnax from keeping them for the octopus so in the empty 20 gallon I have kept a Spider Crab (Libinia emarginata) and now a Calico crab (Hepatus epheliticus).
Earlier this year I started my first freshwater aquarium with a breeding pair of killifish (Aphyosemion australe) in a dark 5 gallon planted setup with Anubias. I later started my first 2 gallon unfiltered betta bowl. I hope to start up a 20 gallon freshwater planted tank with small gouramis and expand my reef tank into a 40 gallon breeder with T5 HO lighting. The empty 25 will then be turned into a predatory saltwater Angler setup.
I like to help out anyway I can at the meetings or answering questions. I have a fish library of over 25 texts and 30 years of various aquarium magazines. I also love the science behind water tests and have a water test kit or meter for just about every parameter you need to test for. I hope to have up some pictures of my setups soon.
Be seeing you.
